Strengthening the family justice system(external link)

The Independent Panel has been tasked by the Minister of Justice to examine and report on the effectiveness of reforms made to the family justice system in 2014.

After releasing a consultation paper in September 2018, the Panel travelled throughout New Zealand to speak with parents, whānau, communities and professionals. Based on what they heard, the Panel considers changes need to be made to the Family Court and related services. They have produced a consultation document which outlines their initial thoughts on a proposed direction for change.

Strengthening the Criminal Justice System for Victims survey(external link)

The Hāpaitia te Oranga Tangata – Safe and Effective Justice programme wants to ensure that the needs of people who have experienced crime are at the heart of any reform of the criminal justice system.

This survey is an opportunity for you to tell us your views, what works and what doesn’t, and how it can be improved.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous. We do not ask for your name or any personal details.
