COVID-19 ALERT LEVEL 2 UPDATE
From 18 May 2020 and at Level 2 of the COVID-19 Alert level, the Legal Complaints Review Office will re-open to the public by appointment only. The Tribunal will continue to receive and process new matters and submissions sent via email. Decisions that have been finalised will be released and all matters that can proceed on the papers will be advanced.
Parties are encouraged to send documents via email in the first instance, followed by hard copies as necessary, sent by courier or post.

The Legal Complaints Review Officer independently reviews decisions made by the New Zealand Law Society and New Zealand Society of Conveyancers Standards Committees on complaints against lawyers and conveyancers.
The reviews are as informal and straightforward as possible while giving proper consideration to the process of the review itself and the law.
As part of managing our response to COVID-19, we encourage applicants to lodge any review application by email. You will then receive an automated acknowledgement of receipt. You must ensure that your application is attached to your email and signed. Ensure you enclose a copy of the Standards Committee decision and attach proof of payment or authorisation to deduct the $50 filing fee. If you are unhappy after a standards committee has investigated a complaint, you can apply to the Legal Complaints Review Officer to review the decision.
