COVID-19 Level 2 protocol for Legal Complaints Review Officer [PDF, 52 KB]

The Legal Complaints Review Officer independently reviews decisions made by the New Zealand Law Society and New Zealand Society of Conveyancers Standards Committees on complaints against lawyers and conveyancers.

The reviews are as informal and straightforward as possible while giving proper consideration to the process of the review itself and the law.

As part of managing our response to COVID-19, we encourage applicants to lodge any review application by email. You will then receive an automated acknowledgement of receipt. You must ensure that your application is attached to your email and signed. Ensure you enclose a copy of the Standards Committee decision and attach proof of payment or authorisation to deduct the $50 filing fee. Further information about payment options can be found on this website. The email address is LCRO@justice.govt.nz. The contact phone number for the office is 0800 367 6837.
