Starting Monday 15 November, all PSPLA products (including badges, licences and certificates) will be mailed directly to the company, residential or postal address provided in the application form. 

No PSPLA products will be sent to NZ Post Office locations for collection.

Before you apply online

  1. Find out whether you need a licence or certificate

  2. Make sure you have:
    1. a suitable passport style photo
    2. details of your identification (ID)
    3. your proof of training and skills documents
    4. a MasterCard or Visa credit or debit card to pay your fee.

  3. Check if you already have a licence through the Public register of licence and certificate holders:
    1. If you licence has expired, click 'Apply Online'
    2. If your licence is active, click 'Renew Online'

Note: You can’t apply online for temporary certificates or under the trans-Tasman mutual recognition scheme. You have to apply by mail.


You can only pay with Mastercard or Visa credit or debit cards.

Important tip: Remember what your fee should be when you apply. If you’re charged a different fee, you’ve made a mistake and you should contact us.
